About Us

My photo
Annapolis, Missouri, United States
Hello, We came to Missouri from California and absolutely love it here! Missouri is now our home! I never even dreamed that when I wake in the morning, I can step out on my porch and see a deer or an unbeleivable sunrise without a neighbor in sight! The sounds of the birds singing is the music for me here in the ozarks every morning! This is what I call living! Live in the moment, every day, every moment!

updates on Blossom and Collette's mini dairy!

Blossom is now much bigger and she was a year old in September! She is now in with Calvin the bull and we are hoping for a new baby in November 2010! This will sure make my milk bill go down! I purchase fresh milk from my best friends the Stumps, and make my own cheeses, butter, yogurt etc.....Soon I will be milking my own! Blossom is a beautiful Holsteen that we got last year when her mother died and she was orphaned. Her mother was just as sweet as her and we miss her.

Our newest member of the family!

Here is baby Girdie, she is sooooo beautiful and I am really excited she is a girl! Also, guess what I asked for Christmas?????? I got to pick her out yesterday, I will get a picture just as soon as we are sure which one!

We are Blessed

We are so blessed this year with many deer on the property! They are just so beautiful to look at every morning and night! Not to mention great hunting! Kent is ready to get the big buck he has been feeding for 4 years now.....He is ready! We have seen him several times, but have no pictures yet. We will have a picture soon I hope!

Happy Thanksgiving

I am so thankful for the many blessings that Heavenly Father has given to our family! We had the opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with Eric, Rozanne, Jessikah, Tessa, Alex, Jarem, Kyle and Jessica in Tennessee. We had a wonderful visit and great food!
We are looking so forward to everyone coming to the ranch around Christmas or after!
We now have guest rooms, so there is more places for people to sleep! No Kyle and Eric, you don't have to camp out LOL.

I will post some new pictures soon, we have some good pictures of deer on the property, I am just waiting for Kent to come home with the 12 pointer for a picture of that.

We really missed everyone else on Thanksgiving but are sure you had a fantastic one as well as us.

Talk to you all soon!

Love to all!

Kent and Collette and the Bass Ranch

Before I was a Mom

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.
